Financial Aid Priority Deadline

The 冈本视频 Financial Aid Priority Deadline is April 15th. Applications that are complete and all documents have been received by the deadline receive PRIORITY STATUS. Priority applications are processed in time for tuition and fee payment. To be considered complete, you must complete all of the steps below by the priority deadline.

Apply as early as possible to ensure that your application is processed before the payment deadline.

Financial Aid applications are accepted throughout the year; however, some funds are limited and awarded on the first-come first-serve basis. Apply early for the best opportunities. 

Complete an 冈本视频 冈本视频 application. You must be fully admitted in order for your financial aid eligibility to be determined.

Submit official transcripts from all previous schools.

File a degree or certificate plan with an Academic Advisor.

You must create an FSA ID (Federal Student Aid ID) to electronically sign the FAFSA. For a dependent student, your parents should also create an FSA ID, so that they can electronically sign the FAFSA. For those who do not already have an FSA ID, one can be created on the FSA ID website. A FAFSA that has not been submitted with the required signature(s) will be rejected by the Department of Education and cannot be processed.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only government-approved application for determining your eligibility for aid. The FAFSA is available online. If you list the 冈本视频 school code (003539), we will download your information electronically from the Federal Central Processing Center.

 

  • 2025-2026 FAFSA - For the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters.  Students, spouses, and parents are required to give consent on the FAFSA to retrieve and disclose 2023 Federal IRS tax information.  This FAFSA is available for completion from October 1, 2024 - June 30, 2026.

 

  • 2026-2027 FAFSA - For the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters.  Students, spouses, and parents are required to give consent on the FAFSA to retrieve and disclose 2024 Federal IRS tax information.  This FAFSA is available for completion from October 1, 2025 - June 30, 2027.

2026-2027 FAFSA UPDATE (for Fall 2026)

  • Due to changes made by the U.S. Department of Education in the One Big Beautiful Bill (OB3), 冈本视频 will not begin downloading 2026-2027 FAFSAs until all regulations and system updates are approved. 冈本视频 will install changes as soon as they become available. Students will receive further details in their student email account once their 2026-2027 FAFSA is downloaded. Thank you for your patience as we implement these federally-mandated changes.

Once 冈本视频 has received and reviewed the results of your FAFSA, you will receive an email with instructions and a list of required documents (if needed). Submit all required documents to 冈本视频 at one time. Documents may be submitted in one of the following ways:
  • Via email, by sending all documents to fa@alvincollege.edu. Please include your full name and 冈本视频 ID Number in the email.
  • Via fax, 281-756-3840. Please include your full name and 冈本视频 ID Number on all pages.
  • In person, at the 冈本视频 Financial Aid Office.
  • Schedule a virtual visit through the Financial Aid homepage of the 冈本视频 Website.

Be sure to check your email regularly. 冈本视频鈥檚 primary form of communication with students is email: we only send emails to the your 冈本视频 email address and the personal email address that you have on file with the 冈本视频 Office. Many of our emails are sent out as mass communications, so be sure to check your junk mail or spam folder and mark 冈本视频 emails as 鈥渟afe鈥. 

Login to the 冈本视频 POD to check your aid status, to register for classes, check your balance, set up direct deposit with your bank account, and check if your refund has been sent to you. 

If you have money left over after your aid is applied to your tuition and fees, you may use the credit balance to purchase books and supplies (check the 冈本视频 POD to determine your balance). There are two options to get your books and supplies:

Use your credit balance at the 冈本视频 Bookstore. Check the "Deadlines Disbursements, and Refunds" section of the 冈本视频 POD Financial Aid page for the dates that your aid will be available at the 冈本视频 Bookstore.

Wait for your financial aid refund to be sent to you.  Refund dates are posted on the "Deadlines Disbursements, and Refunds" section of the 冈本视频 POD Financial Aid page.

Adding an additional school to your FAFSA will not affect your eligibility (although you must cancel your aid at 冈本视频 before using it at another school). However, changes to your income, marital status, family members, or other data may change the amount of aid that you receive and could necessitate further review and paperwork. Contact a Financial Aid Advisor before making changes to your FAFSA.
